These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of UpliftBuddy — the website at upliftbuddy.com, the UpliftBuddy mobile application, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use UpliftBuddy. Questions are always welcome at support@upliftbuddy.com.
The Service is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. By using UpliftBuddy you confirm that you are 18 or older. We may suspend or close accounts that we reasonably believe belong to anyone under 18.
UpliftBuddy helps people build recovery from compulsive pornography use and related habits. The Service includes:
Features may evolve, improve, or be discontinued as the Service develops. Where a change materially reduces something you have paid for, we will provide reasonable notice.
Billed through your app store. UpliftBuddy Pro is sold as an in-app subscription processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. Checkout, payment collection, applicable taxes, renewals, and cancellations are handled by the app store under its own terms, and are governed by the account and payment method you hold with Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment card or bank details.
Pro subscription. UpliftBuddy Pro is a recurring subscription billed at the price shown in the app at purchase. Unless you cancel, it renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and your app store charges your payment method for the next period.
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time by managing your subscription in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting your UpliftBuddy account does not by itself cancel an app-store subscription — you must also cancel it in your app store settings to stop being billed.
Refunds. Because billing is handled by the app stores, refunds are subject to the Apple App Store or Google Play refund policies and are requested through them. Please see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
Price changes. We may change subscription pricing. Changes never apply retroactively and take effect only at your next renewal; where required, your app store will ask you to confirm a price increase before it applies.
To keep the Service fast, safe, and affordable for everyone, AI features are subject to fair-usage limits (for example, a daily message allowance for the Iro coach, shown in the app). Automated, scripted, or abusive usage of AI features is not permitted, and we may throttle or suspend accounts that attempt to circumvent limits.
You agree not to:
Your check-ins, journal entries, notes, answers, and conversations remain yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to store and process this content solely to operate and improve the Service for you (for example, generating your plan or insights). Optional sharing: if you turn on “Share with UpliftBuddy” for a journal entry, you grant us permission to use that entry, in an anonymised form and without your name, to build aggregated recovery overviews that may help other users. Sharing is off by default and you can stop sharing an entry at any time. We do not sell your content, and we do not use your private recovery data for advertising. See our Privacy Notice for details.
Iro and other AI features generate responses automatically. They can be imperfect, incomplete, or occasionally wrong, and they are not medical or professional advice. Use your judgement, and seek qualified professional help for medical or mental-health concerns.
You may delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are used by anyone under 18, or create risk for the Service or other users. Where reasonable, we will notify you. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as limitations of liability) survive.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee any particular recovery outcome — recovery depends on many factors personal to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UpliftBuddy and its operator shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (or USD 10 if you have paid nothing). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by applicable law, or affects statutory consumer rights.
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For material changes we will give notice (for example, by email or in-app). Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
