About UpliftBuddy

Built by someone who's been there.

The short version of my story

I'm the founder of UpliftBuddy, and I'm a recovering porn addict.

For years it didn't look like a problem — just a habit, just stress relief, just what everyone does. But slowly the costs stacked up: focus I couldn't hold, motivation that kept fading, promises to myself I kept breaking, and a quiet shame that followed me around. What finally made the difference wasn't willpower or another "day 1" — it was honesty, tracking my patterns, understanding my triggers, and having somewhere judgement-free to process it all.

I'm staying anonymous — the same way many of you will while you work on this. What matters isn't my name. It's that this app was built from the inside of the problem, not from a boardroom.

Why UpliftBuddy exists

When I looked for help, I found two extremes: clinical resources that felt cold and generic, or communities that swung between motivation and shame. What I needed — and couldn't find — was a private space that treated recovery like what it actually is: a daily practice of honesty, awareness, and small wins that compound.

So I built it.
