Is UpliftBuddy free to use?
Yes. UpliftBuddy is free of charge during the launch period, until the app is published on Google Play and the Apple App Store, and no payment details are required. After publication, UpliftBuddy will become a paid membership, UpliftBuddy Pro at $6 per month, and the price is always shown before you confirm a purchase.
What happens when the app is published?
Once the app is published, UpliftBuddy will become a paid membership: Pro at $6 per month, billed securely by Dodo Payments on the website and in the Android app. The price is always shown before you confirm your purchase. The membership renews each month until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time to stop the next renewal. Refunds are not offered, except for billing errors or where the law requires otherwise. Existing paid memberships continue unchanged.
What is Iro, the AI recovery coach?
Iro is our AI recovery coach and will be available in a future release. It is designed to be a calm, judgement-free coach you can talk to whenever you need, helping you through urges and difficult moments without ever being explicit or shaming. Iro is not yet available, and no content you enter in UpliftBuddy is currently sent to an AI service. Once Iro is released, the text of your current chat will be sent securely to our AI provider, OpenAI, to write a reply. We will not store your conversation on our servers, and Iro will never receive your name, email or check-ins. Iro is an AI, not a therapist or a crisis service.
How do points and levels work?
A clean day earns 10 points. A streak of 7 or more days adds a bonus of 5, and healthy habits and EARN activities earn 2 points each. A slip deducts 20 points. Points unlock levels 1 to 99. It is a motivation tool, not a medical measure.
Is my data private?
Privacy is central to how UpliftBuddy is built. We show no ads, we never sell your data, and we collect only what the app needs to work. We never see your card or bank details, because Dodo Payments handles payments. You can delete your account and data at any time. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.
What if I slip?
A slip is information, not failure. The app records it so you can learn from it, offers support in the moment and helps you start again the next day. There is no shaming.
