About UpliftBuddy

Built by someone who's been there.

The short version of my story

I'm the founder of UpliftBuddy, and I've struggled with porn myself.

For years it didn't look like a problem — just a habit, just stress relief, just what everyone does. But slowly the costs stacked up: focus I couldn't hold, motivation that kept fading, promises to myself I kept breaking, and a quiet shame that followed me around. What finally made the difference wasn't willpower or another "day 1" — it was honesty, tracking my patterns, understanding my triggers, and having somewhere judgement-free to process it all.

I'm staying anonymous — the same way many of you will while you work on this. What matters isn't my name. It's that this app was built from the inside of the problem, not from a boardroom.

Why UpliftBuddy exists

When I looked for help, I found two extremes: resources that felt cold and generic, or communities that swung between motivation and shame. What I needed — and couldn't find — was a private space that treated change like what it actually is: a daily practice of honesty, awareness, and small wins that compound.

So I built it.

How UpliftBuddy helps

  • A 20-second daily check-in — your mood, energy, stress, and urges, honestly logged. Slips included, without judgement. Every day is data, not a verdict.
  • Points and levels you can watch rise — +10 for every clean day, 99 levels to climb, because progress you can see is progress you keep.
  • Urge SOS — in-the-moment support for the hardest minutes.
  • Iro, your AI coach (coming soon) — private, judgement-free chats whenever you need to talk something through. We will not store your conversations on our servers.
  • A learn library — short, shame-free reads on how habits form and how to change them.

Our promises

  • Private by design. Your check-ins, notes and progress are visible only to you — no community rankings, no tracking ads. If you ever choose to share a journal entry, it appears anonymously under an alias, never with your name or email. However you sign in, your recovery stays between you and the app.
  • No shame, ever. A slip is information, not a failure of character — you'll always find support here, never judgement.
  • Honest about what we are. UpliftBuddy is a self-help tool, not a medical or therapy service — and we'll always point you to professional help when that's what's needed. See our Disclaimer.
